Light In The Attic devoted a fair wedge of energy to reissuing the work of Betty Davis, surely one of the greatest of all the 70s funk divas. More than stepping up to the likes of Ruth Copeland and Lyn Collins, Davis went her own way and developed her own smouldering sound. Her confidence might well have been what posed such a threat to the status quo of the music industry at the time, and it positively leaps out of her seminal 1974 album They Say I'm Different. The reissue has been in need of a repress for some time, and its comes intact with a full 20-page booklet which takes you into the heart of the album and Davis' incredible, but all too short-lived legacy.
