Originally released in 2014, now on the band's own Guruguru Brain imprint for the first time.

Kikagaku Moyo here sound anything but lost, their child-like wonder manifested in a confident, courageous exploration of sound. Labels – psychedelic, folk, prog-rock, psychedelic-folk-mixed-with-prog-rock – do little to accurately reflect the spectrum of influences on display, let alone the more impactful realization of completeness in Kikagaku Moyo’s songs.

Cymande’s seminal debut, newly remastered at Abbey Road. Features several of the band’s best known - and often sampled - classics like “Dove,” “The Message” and more. Translucent, orange crush vinyl. With the release of their self-titled debut album in 1972, Cymande emerged as innovators of the black British music scene. Taking influences from their Guyanese and Jamaican roots, the band fused reggae bass lines, Afro-tinged Nyabinghi percussion, psychedelic touches, and American-style funk into a unique sound they’ve since dubbed as “Nyah-rock.” While they were embraced in the US, back home they were largely ignored and soon forgotten by a music business beset by prejudice against homegrown black talent.Cymande split in 1975 after releasing three albums in quick succession, but their music lived on as successive generations of artists and fans found and embraced their songs. Their far-reaching influence can be heard in the countless samples taken from their music over the last four decades, from pioneering DJs like DJ Kool Herc and Grandmaster Flash, to De La Soul, The Wu-Tang Clan, Gang Starr, EPMD, Sugar Hill Gang, Fatboy Slim, and The Fugees -- to name a few. They stand today as one of the most revered and sampled bands in the history of Hip Hop, House, and Dance.
** Limited Clear Sky Blue Vinyl Edition - Japanese Import **Produced by Masatoshi Nishimura of FENCE OF DEFENSE, this is an innovative album that contains elements of new wave and rock, as well as mellow songs and experimental sounds. In recent years, due to the popularity of city pop, mellow songs such as “I’m In Love” and “Midnight Pretenders” and the cosmic-sounding “Hannya” have been re-evaluated by young people who didn’t know what they were doing at the time (the original release was in 1983), and they have become popular overseas.
What Plus instruments? The title implies the secondary nature of the tools used to produce the sounds, maybe even of the sounds themselves. The means of making sound are not important, but the sounds themselves are, but even beyond them there is a force, a grumbling. Maybe best represented by the first sound heard on Plus Instruments “Februauri- April 81”, a sound that is more felt than heard. The grumbling persists throughout the album, not in the same sonic way but things gyrate and repeat until they are mineral and not purely auditory. Using toys, drum machines, and other homemade electronics designed by front person Truus de Groot, the band manages to obscure every song into a hard to maintain mix of No Wave drive, New Wave sheen, and dance music groove. Consisting of Truus, Lee Ranaldo and David Linton, the trio smashes the sound of early 80s New York with the equally as progressive European experimentation of the time. Completely without total contemporaries, Plus instruments make music free of bounds from time, labels, and place. Originally released by Kremlin records, run by Sonic Youth’s future manager Carlos Van Hitfje, Domani Sounds proudly presents Febrauri-April 81' featuring brand new liner notes by Hitfje himself.
From home to studio: Takeshi's Cashew's second album »Enter J's Chamber« is an evolvement on every level. Complex arrangements with light hearted melodies, the essence of a jam in a structured manner, the dynamic of a live gig on a clear recording. Pairing up with Jasper Geluk and his cozy, tape driven recording studio puts this album on another level. Takeshi's Cashew truly know their craft and finally have the opportunity to present themselves with a new livery, but true to their roots.
