Spellbinding Afro-beat classics, reissued with full colour artwork on fresh vinyl cut. 'Everything Scatter' is a stone cold hit, fourteen minutes of the tightest instrumental instincts woven into one dynamite dancefloor mover, all with a strong message of African identity and an unshakable energy. 'Who No Know Go Know' features a seminal keyboard workout set against rich horns and a slow, tucked-in drumming from Tony Allen which has made this a favourite with the likes of Theo Parrish who included it on his 'Eclectic Aesthetic Pt.1' mix album. Unmissable.

✈︎✈︎ Brazil import ✈︎✈︎A landmark recording that is one of Jorge Ben's best albums ever! The album is a perfect realization of the way that Jorge mixes Brazilian rhythms with choppy Afro grooves – and the result is a masterpiece that yeilded some of his biggest tracks ever. Included here is the great choppy funk track "Ponta De Lanca", plus loads of other goodies like "O Filosofo", "Xica Da Silva", "A Historia De Jorge", and a great remake of "Taj Mahal" – probably his greatest cut ever.
This long-awaited inaugural release from DJ Fred Spider's Voom Voom Records visits an iteration of the legendary South African jazz funk ensemble of the 20th century. Spirits Rejoice recorded two incredible jazz fusion albums in the late 70’s with amble lashings of funk and soul. As the currents of popular music shifted in the 1980s, the group got behind a modern dance side project led by guitarist Paul Petersen and produced by the genius Patric Van Blerk. The result was Doctor Rhythm and an album entitled I Feel It Rising from 1981. Based out of Cape Town's premier vintage vinyl emporium, Voom Voom presents the album's sultry slow-burner "I'm So Strong Now" (paired with a modern remix) and well as two versions of the disco-boogie swinger "Hook It Up" written by the pianist Mervyn Africa (the original track alongside a Fred Spider & Simbad edit and a crisp rework by DJ Turmix from NY to boot). The result is an essential dancefloor release documenting what is surely South Africa's best take on band-driven New York boogie from the disco years. After the success of Kouté Jazz, Heavenly Sweetness returns with a compilation that’ll have you moving your feet all summer long! Experience 13 tracks ranging from disco, boogie and Zouk that were recorded in the early 80’s in the West Indies. These tracks reveal the merger between traditional and other rhythmic genres (funk, disco, afro-beat, Latin Brazilian …), with the addition of synthesizers and drums machine to the creative process. Original, magnetic and highly danceable.
